阎连科 1958年出生于河南嵩县，1978年应征入伍，1979年开始写作，2004年转业。现为中国人民大学文学院教授、香港科技大学冼为坚中国文化客座教授。 曾获第一、二届鲁迅文学奖及第三届老舍文学奖；入围2012年度法国费米娜文学奖短名单，2013、2016、2017年三次入围布克国际文学奖短名单和长名单；获得第十二届马来西亚花踪世界华文文学大奖、2014年卡夫卡国际文学奖、2015年日本推特文学奖、2016年第六届世界华文长篇小说奖——红楼梦奖。 作品已被译为日、韩、越、法、英、德、意、荷、瑞典、挪威、西班牙、葡萄牙等三十多种语言。
